That Gorgeous Woman in the Gala!
John was at the gala event when a red Ferrari pulled up to the curb. Out came a beautiful woman with a red dress; she was beautiful head to toe. Even better, she was unaccompanied and not wearing a ring. The kind of girl dreams are made of. John was compelled by her beauty and fell in love immediately. John stood beside Mark, a former business partner who stood quietly staring at the woman. Both men, who were currently single, stared at this woman. John, who was recently laid off from his job, felt uncomfortable and was hesitant to approach her. He felt as if he wasn’t good enough and not worthy of her attention. He turned to Mark, who had the financial means to woo a woman like this, and felt envious.
The driver pulled the red Ferrari to the curb, gently pressing the brakes. He turned to the rearview mirror and stared at the beautiful woman. She sported confidence. He stared at the forbidden woman. “Need help with the door Risa?” -“No, I got it, Peter, thanks.” She said with pride as she opened her own door, exited the luxurious vehicle, and immediately stepped into the crowd. She noticed the stares and relished in them but only cared for one person, the one she scanned around for. Looking for the look on this individual’s face as he saw her. “It’s over. The company is mine,” was all she could think as she gracefully continued forward.
Mark felt chills coming down his whole body, ”I can’t believe what I’m seeing,” thought Mark to himself. “There is this beautiful woman wearing red, strutting with confidence who she has, a great body, wealth, even a great car. Look at the crowd; they love her. Look at the men; they all want her, even some of the women too.” I turned away and tried to refocus my attention on the event and the reason I went in the first place. Then I noticed John also staring at her. The look on John’s face differed from the rest of the men. John looked as if he was in love. I was angry and tried to play it off, but deep down inside, I knew that this night wouldn’t go well. It never was. My former wife stole all the attention. And now she’s stealing my company. I hate you, Risa.”
