Proven Statements that help you become a more positive person

Article written by Anthony Soto

With all the challenges and negativity that today’s society inflicts upon us, I can understand why people find it hard to be positive. Being positive can be challenging indeed. Yet the ability to become positive can lead to a better lifestyle. Ahead, you will see three proven statements you can use to help you transition into a more positive person.

Let me ask: Are you tired of being negative? Are you struggling to stay positive? Your mental health needs to stick to being positive. So what can I do about it? How we feel is often determined by what we perceive as positive or negative.

# 1- Everything Happens for a Reason

Turn the phrase “it is what it is” into Everything happens for a reason.

Now, who hasn’t heard this before? Most of us have. When encountering yourself in a crappy situation, think about the positive. Ask yourself, why did this happen to me? I have learned over the years to take the punches and learn the lessons that often come with the bad. By doing so, I have grown as a person.

Often, I am glad when negative things have happened (after the fact, of course) because I have benefited from them. For example, I accidentally forgot my phone once, so I went back, and when I arrived at the house, I noticed I had left the stove on. (Irresponsible perhaps, haha), but coming back for my phone potentially saved my house from burning down.

“Sometimes it takes a wrong turn to take you to the right place” MANDY HALE

You must teach yourself to be optimistic and make it a goal to learn the lesson during these moments and what benefits you get from them. The biggest takeaway, my friends, is that you’ll be surprised, and nine out of ten times, you’ll learn something from it. So yes, accept it. Everything happens for a reason and doesn’t have to be negative.

One of the best-proven statements around.

# 2 – I can do it

The opposite version of this phrase can be very negative. I can’t do it; It’s too hard, or I don’t know how. Often, we find ourselves in situations where we think negatively. It could be a test, a task, a job, a challenge, physical or emotional, or even as simple as a thought. It is human nature to think negatively first. It is something that is wired into our system.

But as most successful people do, they do it. Telling yourself I can do it, or better yet, I will do it regardless of the situation can be one of the most powerful statements you can make. J. K Rowling, for example, battled depression for years. Before it was accepted, her book was rejected multiple times. She didn’t give up, and the book got published. You all know the phenomenon of Harry Potter becoming a household name nowadays.

“I can do everything I want to do” CARRIE UNDERWOOD

How about?

Michael Edwards, famously known as Eddie the Eagle, wanted to go to the Olympics since he was a child, and everyone dismissed him. He did not give up on his dreams. His drive was more significant than the negative vibe working against him. He did make it to the Winter Olympics in 1988, and even though he finished last in the 70m and 90 m events, he was the first British person to represent Great Britain in ski jumping since 1928. He may have reached last place but achieved his dream of participating in the Olympics.

The point is that you have to know that you can do it. It would be best if you believed it. If you think about it and don’t push, it will not happen. Knowing you can achieve your goals and dreams is a great feeling. But even better is knowing that you did it because you made “I can do it “a reality.

# 3 – It’s My Life

“It’s my life it’s now or never”BON JOVI

Like the famous Bon Jovi song, it is now or never. You have to determine what kind of life you want. You have to do that because if you do not, someone else will. Some of us are blessed to live many years; others, unfortunately, do not.

Too many people die with regret, longing for a chance to go back in time and live a better life. Whether it was poor choices, bad decisions, or just being a victim of circumstance, you owe it to yourself to stop the cycle.

If you aren’t happy, do something about it. If you don’t like your current life, change it. If your dreams are just dreams, you haven’t done anything about them. Start chasing them. It all requires action, but having a can’t-do attitude will not help you. YOLO (You only live once), as Millennials call it, does have value.

As proven statements go, acknowledging that It’s your life is very powerful.

These Statements work

I, for example, am in the middle of a personal renaissance. I have changed my career and way of living to pursue my dreams and goals—this blog, in particular, is one of them.

Writing makes me happy. Helping people grow and become better versions of themselves also contributes to my happiness. I love it.

So, there, you have three proven statements to help you have a more positive mindset. You got this!
