Being Creative- my driving force!

The reason I want to write a novel(s) goes back to my young creative days. Often fascinated by other worlds: the lore, folklore, the characters, and their motivation. I love to write; I would write anything for the sake of writing. Sometimes, I wonder why I didn’t major in literature or journalism. Instead, I pursued business(nothing wrong with that).

The Biggest Asset

Creativity is the biggest asset the human mind has outside of reasoning. There are so many stories to tell. Being creative is being alive. I thoroughly enjoy the creativity behind all written works of art. Books, articles, plays, films, music, and other works of art, whether it’s a sculpture, a drawing, or a painting. Art is creativity. Even video games have matured to the point where they are well-developed works of art. Art and creativity, in turn, represent human expression.

I often would watch a movie, read a book, or listen to a song. And say to myself, “Hey, someone wrote that, someone created that.” So, what if? What if, one day, I can create something myself?

But my wish is that my work would positively impact someone the way others impacted me. What if? One day, I create something that becomes a multi-selling franchise that can transcend multiple forms of media (books, comics, movies, TV shows, etc.). And not only that, but what if my creativity could lead me and my family to live a better life? It’s worth a shot!

The creative mind is a powerful tool, perhaps the most powerful tool in the world. So, just thinking about creating something that can make a difference, that idea (thought) alone motivates me to want to share what I’ve got. And if not, to make a difference but to entertain someone at a minimum. Then, I would call that a success.

As my previous sentence states, I’m not after fame, but nonetheless, it would be pretty cool to see a book of mine on a store shelf someday. Or, who knows, maybe even on television. That would be neat!

Creative Fiction or Nonfiction?

Creatively, I’m pursuing writing fiction novels in different genres since I already have a few stories in mind, some of which have been in the back of my brain as far back as ten years ago.

So far, I have a few horror stories(my favorite genre) on my mind and two potential comedies, but I’m also interested in creating something fantasy akin to the Lord of the Rings, which is my passion project. I’m not only limiting myself to that, as I also have other genres in mind, and certain stories are far more tuned to those specific genres. The point is I’m not limiting myself, but, like all things, one step at a time.

Based on my descriptions above, you can already tell that I’m not fully interested in just non-fiction. Although I have some real-life articles and discussions, I won’t shy away from them. But as of now, I don’t see that being my main output. Check out the self-help section for some of my articles.

Honest thoughts and concerns.

My biggest creative barrier when it comes to writing anything comes down to life itself, really. Not enough time in a day, let alone other responsibilities. Life gets busy and never plays fair. So you have to put in the work. But here I am, just recently launched my author site. Completed my first novel and midway through my second one.

Although I’m far from getting there, but what if the well runs dry of ideas? I think that’s every author’s nightmare. I know those thoughts terrify me.

Hopefully, this post gives you a better understanding of what I’m trying to accomplish. Feel free to comment below. Thank you for visiting.
